Day 484 Competition and ponds

Today we went to Velka Klajdovka (english translation :"the big quarry"). And it's a big quarry indeed. From the top you see whole Brno. And there are little ponds at the bottom. We decided to go see them.

On the way down though, we heard a lot of dogs barking, so we went to check out what the mess was about. An agility competition!
German shepherd performing
I also want to participate
Man carrying his dog?

There were some practicing elements on the side. I had a go at the sea-saw.
Too easy! :)

There were a lot of dogs, but they were too busy. When a dog would come close to me, their owners would call them immediately. They looked a bit stressed out. This must have been some serious competition...
Nobody wants to play with me...
We decided to leave and head back to the bottom of the quarry and sit by the ponds. Jen studied while I pondered on the meaning of life. Hehe...

My conclusion was that
nothing beats a good stick
cause I'm cool like that
Then I proceeded to carry it all over

Life rocks!
I am not allowed in the water but I slipped off a rock. And later I stepped in reed, which gave in to water.
Oops in the water once
Oops in the water - second time.

On the way back we have to walk through a small neighborhood. A misbehaved Mety was in her garden and barked and barked at me. I remained calm but had trouble staying focused.  Jen used to the opportunity to train and practice concentrating in front of distractions.

What's she barking at?
I let her sniff me and she settled.
We did so good in being calm, that also the other Mety calmed down quickly, stopped barking and decided to be neutral :) Wee trained her as much as me!
Jen is so happy from the progress, this would have never been able to happen so nicely a few months ago!

Day 465 Very successful study day

So it all started that we were studying in the library, the girls complaining they would not have enough time to study before their next big exam (basically the biggest of their whole study program).
Off to study!
And barely 30 min after starting studying, they got bored. And entertained me.
Playing with Renee
Annoying the Jennifer
Stop making noise, I can't play the game on my phone!
Well... when I have my guide dog jacket, it means I am not supposed to play. But look at it this way, there was Question 65: behavioral problems in dogs. So basically I was educating them on non-comforming behaviors of guide dogs! :)
Not my fault, Jen started it!
Even more bored. Started taking pictures of stuff.
I can be a model if you want :)
Then we went for a lecture. It was about toxic substances in cats and dogs. This lecture was poisoning me to sleep! :(
My view during lectures. Stinky feet. Aspiration toxicity.
At least we had a nice walk back home before the rain. Now that I don't have many stitches, Jen is letting me run a bit more :)
Little spring trail (actually a lot muddier than it looks)

Day 463 Cypriot Easter again

Today there are a lot of cypriots in the garden. Jen said I could stay with them if I am nice.
I won't bark hehe

Get it? Cause I was sitting next to bark?
They had a barbecue with a lot of meat on the grill. I didn't really care, as long as they played with me and my stick, I was happy. Jen said the stitches on my belly would not be so happy...

One of the people brought a tiny dog. It was smaller than Bouboula the cat.
I want to be a lapdog too...
Alicia and me

Jen said I am the most oblivious dog, and would not survive one day in nature.
There are sticks INSIDE the meat! How cool!
Can I have the sticks please?

Day 462 Blind chess

Yesterday I ran around the house like crazy. So Jen is letting me off leash. But only in a back alley with garages next to the house.
boring.
Still
This evening we went to play blind chess at Simon's. Jen and Simon blindfolded their eyes and played on a special chessboard. The pieces are distinguishable by an extra spike for white. The dark and light spaces are at different heights and have a hole and the pieces have pegs so they can fit.
Luckily they couldn't see so they wouldn't see my gown.
*sigh*

Day 461 Bo-o-ring

These are the most boring days of my life! Jennifer is not letting me off leash outdoors anymore! And keeping  me on leash! I feel like calling the animal abuse number!

Brushing up on my guiding skills
Like I am a working dog or something
And my heeling

I actually took one out already. It's not bleeding and not more swollen than the rest. So I figure I could take them out now.
See the gap? That's where my stitch is missing.

But the worst about the stupid pyjama thing is that now I cannot even take my stitches out. Jen needs to learn how to take sutures out because she will become a vet, and I can show her how it's done!
This. Is. Ridiculous.
All my dignity is gone.

Day 459 German shepherd imperfections

Finally! Finally Jennifer started studying something interesting! Dogs! Mwahahaaaa! Also I am in a good mood because we spent the day on the porch and she took off my stupid pyjama.
She let me in the garden, and I was so happy that I was offleash for once I did a few laps around at full speed just to stretch my legs. Jen tackled me and said I wasn't allowed to run. Or jump. Or lay on a dirty surface. Or lick my wound. Or scratch it. Sheesh. I took out a stitch by running but she didn't notice hehe
Teehee, you study while I sniff!
She tried to entertain me so I wouldn't run around. Had doggy icecream. Like a lot.

The first question she started studying was about breed predispositions. I told her it's easy, German shepherds are the best, are perfect and have no flaws. She disagreed and handed over the list:
